Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication

The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed journal such as El-IQTISHOD is a fundamental building block in the development of a respected and coherent body of knowledge. It reflects the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method. Therefore, it is essential to establish standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved in the publishing process: the author, the journal editor, the peer reviewer, the publisher, and the academic community.

The Sharia Economics Study Program, Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, Institut Parahikma Indonesia, as the publisher of El-IQTISHOD, is committed to ensuring the integrity of all stages of the publishing process. We are dedicated to upholding ethical behavior and fulfilling our responsibilities. We ensure that advertising, reprints, or other commercial revenues do not influence editorial decisions. Additionally, the Editorial Board is committed to facilitating communication with other journals and/or publishers where necessary.

Publication Decisions

The editor of El-IQTISHOD is responsible for deciding which of the submitted articles should be published. The validation of the work in question and its importance to researchers and readers are the primary considerations in this decision. The editor may consult with other editors or reviewers in making publication decisions, adhering to the journal's editorial policies and complying with applicable legal requirements concerning libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism.

Fair Play

The editor will evaluate manuscripts based on their intellectual content, without regard to the author's race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.

Confidentiality

The editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in the editor's own research without the express written consent of the author.

Duties of Reviewers

Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and, through editorial communication with the author, may help the author improve their paper.

Promptness: Any selected reviewer who feels unqualified to review the research in a manuscript or knows that prompt review will be impossible should notify the editor and withdraw from the review process.

Confidentiality: Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shared or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.

Standards of Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.

Acknowledgment of Sources: Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. Any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published paper should be brought to the editor's attention.

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest: Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors, companies, or institutions associated with the papers.

Duties of Authors

Reporting Standards: Authors should present an accurate account of the research performed and an objective discussion of its significance. Data should be presented accurately in the paper, with sufficient detail and references to allow replication of the work. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements are unethical and unacceptable.

Data Access and Retention: Authors may be asked to provide the raw data for editorial review and should be prepared to provide public access to such data, where feasible, and to retain the data for a reasonable period after publication.

Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original, and if the work and/or words of others have been used, these must be appropriately cited or quoted.

Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication: Authors should not publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals concurrently is unethical and unacceptable.

Acknowledgment of Sources: Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have influenced the reported work.

Authorship of the Paper: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. All significant contributors should be listed as co-authors. The corresponding author should ensure that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper and have agreed to its submission for publication.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: All authors should disclose any financial or other substantive conflicts of interest that might influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed.

Fundamental Errors in Published Works: If an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, they must promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate to retract or correct the paper.
